Pro Bloom-A Saturday Product Review

I’ll just let you know, although I have tried many things at one time or another, I am not one to put my girls on a bunch of supplements. If they are having some sort of problem I have no issues trying something to help. But overall, my girls are healthy and doing fine.

Well, mostly.

At first I didn’t think twice about the box of Pro Bloom from The Honest Kitchen I received in my swag bag at Blogpaws. Pro Bloom BoxThen I realized that the probiotics and digestive enzymes might be just what my foster dog, Molly, needs. You see, Molly has had a little gas problem. And by “little” I mean “please someone build me a fallout shelter because surely this is gonna kill me” type gas. Please don’t tell her I told you. She is such a sweet, happy girl and I would HATE to hurt her feelings. Plus, she sometimes just looked so confused at the noise coming from..well..you know. Now, before you start thinking you know what the issue was, I tried two different grain free kibbles (6 weeks each). Although my Daisy eats The Honest Kitchen, I just can’t afford it for more than one large dog right now. So, I was hopeful that the company I had come to trust with several of Daisy’s health issues had come up with a product that would help Molly. Gas may not be the worst issue in the world, but a girl has to maintain her image!

powder in water-before mixing

Pro Bloom is an instant goat milk powder supplement with digestive enzymes and probiotics. It is a human grade product from free range goats here in the USA. You mix with warm water…and let the dog drink it.  I’ve seen some who froze them into treats. You can mix it with kibble, or let your dog drink it straight up. Of course, you can always mix it into your pets normal Honest Kitchen Dinner as well. It can be stored in the fridge for 2 days.

I started Molly out on the sample box I received. For her, one packet daily was recommended per her weight.  I would split it half in the morning, half in the evening. I mixed it with her kibble-basically making her some cereal. Yummy CerealHer change was dramatic. Within days I could tell a difference. I was no longer running for the hills to escape my sweet foster girl. It coincidentally came at the best time-she finally learned how to jump up on the bed with her stubby legs. I don’t think I could have allowed her to sleep with me before Pro Bloom.

Can I finish eating please?

Can I finish eating please?

We are now in what I consider the maintenance phase. I have reduced her Pro Bloom to being half the recommended serving with dinner only. Now, a packet lasts us two days. I am still happy with the result and as you can see, she is quite excited come dinner time! I think this is one supplement I will be sticking to. The results have spoken for themselves. I feel I should add that Pro Bloom is also for cats. However, since a cat wouldn’t make it in my house very long I don’t have any way to try it out with one. If you have tried it with a cat, please leave a comment! I’d love to know how it worked out for you.

Disclaimer: I was provided one box of Pro Bloom at Blogpaws. I have since joined The Honest Kitchen’s Blogger network to receive discounted products. I wouldn’t have done this if I didn’t love The Honest Kitchen. I plan on reviewing several of The Honest Kitchens products in the future.
