The Girls Gave Gifts Too!

The girls didn’t just get gifts this year. They actually planned ahead to get something very special for Grannie. Well, something both grandparents can enjoy, but really for Grannie.

In November we had a professional photographer come and take photos of the girls. If you have multiple dogs you understand how difficult it can be to get two (or more) dogs in a photo together, not blurry, with good lighting, ect…

I was worried about Bella but she did sooo good with two extra (female) strangers in the house!  The photographer was able to get some of the shots I just can’t get by myself. The girls together, Bella baying, Bella standing on her back legs, and Daisy playing with her toy.  Since this was a flirt pole toy she was able to photoshop out the rope in a lot of the pictures. So Grannie got a coffee table book and some single photos of the girls. I hope you enjoy some of these pictures too!  The new header is from this shoot as well! I’ll be sharing other later for sure!

A special thanks to Angela from Angela Hopper Photography and the Canvas Dog Studio for her work! (and she knows I’m blogging her pictures)

Christmas with the Coonies!

This year with the girls was so much fun!  Grannie and Grandpa came bearing a TON of gifts! Now, They get excited just having company but when company comes in with bags and boxes (some of them smelling very good) it is all the more reason to get excited.

Our Tree

Daisy takes the approach of “try to open every present at the same time while wiggling your butt back and forth in excitement”. Bella is much more methodical, waiting to be presented with the gift that is hers then smelling it up and down very thoroughly before deciding if she likes it or not.

Daisy checking out all the gifts

The thing is-Daisy is just as happy when you open your own present. She just wants to be a part of things.  The only human gift she tried to steal was Grannie’s praline scented candle (Pralines are a very popular candy here in Savannah). I guess it smelled so good she thought she’d try to eat it! One of her favorite things was a toy in Bella’s bag. A long green squeaking dog thing. If you are on our Facebook page-its the toy she was laying on in a recent picture.

Daisy with her head IN the bag!

Bella did so good this year! The noise of tearing paper and the camera and all the excitement didn’t bother her much at all. She stayed right in the mix the whole time. If you held out something for her to sniff, she’d very gently sniff all over then wag, wag her tail to share in your happiness.

Bella sniffing my present

One of the funniest things was towards the end of the morning. Daisy had been all wound up and excited. She eventually ended up near Grandpa asking for belly rubs-which he happily obliged. He stopped rubbing but she didn’t move-and about 30 second later her head is resting on his shoe and she is just snoring away!! Like a little kid who just collapsed from exhaustion after too much excitement.

*snore*

The girls came away with some serious swag. New collars, lots of treats, new toys, and a new sweater for Bella. They’ve already been enjoying a lot of it.  We hope your holidays were just as fun!

Yay! New flirt pole!

It’s been a while but we are back in the blog hop!  Good to see y’all again!

Living with a Toddler

No, I don’t live with a human toddler, but sometimes living with Daisy is like having one. Many times it is in all the good ways! The tree at my house was recently decorated for the holiday season and Daisy was so interested. She wanted to be right there and sniff everything and approve of where the ornaments were going. It it so much fun to share these experiences with her.

The first couple balls Daisy thought might be treats and she wanted them in her mouth. Grannie kept her safe.

Daisy watched and approved placement of each of the ornaments. You can see Bella was there but she stayed far away from the action.

“Oh, these are pretty! They should go up next!”

Checking to make sure its in the right place.

“Phew! This tree decorating is exhausting work!”

I had been worried about how well my tree would stand up to living with Daisy. She likes to play with her toys many times while I’m at work. No to mention both girls are not very aware of where their tails are at times. I am happy to report that both girls have a healthy respect of the tree. Bella likes to sniff it when I turn the lights on but both girls have been very good with it!  No broken ornaments yet!

Even Hot Dogs Can't Save You

So, do y’all remember the post about Daisy fainting at the vet’s office?  Where she just fell straight over like the fainting goats?  Here’s the link to relive old memories Fainting Daisy Story

Well, during our picture experience Bella decided that Daisy shouldn’t have all the fun.  I was trying to get a picture of Bella on the tree skirt and next to my angel tree topper.  She didn’t really like the angel too much sitting next to her. So, in the picture below you can see how close to a good picture we could get.  She is still leaning away from the little person with wings. The one to the left is right after the angel fell over in the grass.  Bella fainted right next to the angel!  The picture is me trying to shove hot dogs in her face to make her think what just happened was supposed to happen and all was right with the world. She didn’t believe me of course; not that I could blame her since all three of use were laughing so hard at her.  She was able to take a break from having her picture taken after that and we worked with Daisy for a bit.

I don't like it!
