Waiting for Santa

We are all eagerly awaiting Santa’s arrival! What did your pups ask for from the guy in the red suit?

Rizzie asked for a forever home of her own where she can snuggle up with her people on the couch every night. Daisy wants treats and a pet squirrel (not sure I believe she wants a ‘pet’- LOL), and Bella wants the UPS truck to stop making deliveries so often at our house!

Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas

It is that time of year! Time for all the kids dogs to tell Santa what they want for Christmas.  My girls are no different!

Daisy and Rizzie went to Bass Pro Shop to let Santa know what they wanted this year for Christmas. They were perfect angels. They stood and waited in line quiet and calm. They both let the little kids come up and pet them and say hello. I will say I wish the pictures were taken a bit closer in. I know they were trying to get a whole scene but isn’t the point to get a picture of your kid dog with Santa?

Rizzie went first.  Once she realized I was leaving her with this strange man she turned and was trying to get him to pet and love on her. This is why he is looking and laughing at her. We made lots of funny noises to get her to turn her head. If you click on the pictures you can zoom in to see the girls better.

Daisy was her typical show-pony self. She knew just what to do and how to pose. The girl can really turn on the charm when she wants to.

Happy New Year!!!

So, let me tell you about Christmas morning with the girls. The grandparents were here to deliver presents and Santa came for Bella and Daisy!

Daisy is like the little kid who wants to help open everyone’s presents. She was so interested in everything and wanted to smell it as you were opening it.  Her tail never stopped wagging, she was just so happy that we were happy and that she got to be included!  When it was her turn to open gifts she was sooo excited!  She dove into the tissue to find a new squeaky toy. I think her favorite new toy is her flirt pole. It has a squeaky squirrel on the end.

Bella was very interested in her boxes. She was also very nervous because grandpa was here and he was holding a camera.  But, she did well and laid and watched all the excitement. She rolled her eyes at Daisy’s exuberance (well, that is what I think I saw).  Once it was her turn she went right over to Grannie who was helping with the gifts. She likes smelling everything as it was opened.  Of course, Daisy wanted to help with Bella’s too.

Both of the girls love their new rhinestone collars and custom bandannas (with their names and everything!).  They both got food toys. Daisy loves hers and I’m helping Bella learn how to play with hers.  They ended their morning snacking on new bully sticks.

Santa came!!!

Pretty new collar!

This smells good!

Grannie! Open it faster! Hurry!

OMG!!!!! It squeaks! Get the paper off!!

Bella likes the squeaky too

Bully sticks for Christmas!

I think I'd rather shiver than wear this.

Letters to Santa..

Hey Santa,

Sorry I didn’t write yesterday, I was a little busy guarding the balcony from the squirrels.  Then I had to take a couple naps.  I’m really a great coonhound!  I bay at the squirrels and try to chase the cats; I can reach my own treats in the table when I want them…oh wait, um..  I’m sorry!  I really do try to be a good girl!  It’s my nose! It’s a curse I tell you!  I was trying to play with the squirrels, yeah, that’s it!  And I was just making sure Mom’s bike was working-that’s why I chewed on her pedal!

So, I guess I won’t be getting anything from you Santa.  I don’t think it’s fair we have to be good all year!  I can be good for like 10 whole minutes; shouldn’t that count?!?  If I could make a list I’d put treats, and squeaky toys, and treats, and squeaky toys, and maybe something fun to put my food in, and treats….wait, I think I said that one already.

Please forgive me Santa,

Your delightfully playful Coonhound Daisy

A quick note from Mom:

Santa, both of the girls have been very good this year. Bella has grown up so much and I am so proud.  Daisy might get into things a bit, but she keeps me laughing and that is good enough for me!  I hope you remember them on your trip this year.
